George Frederick Kellar was born on July 7, 1896 in Actinolite, Ontario. His parents were John Wesley Kellar & Nancy Matilda Woodcock who are buried in Actinolite Cemetery. George enlisted in the 59th Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force (C.E.F.) and later served in the 20th Battalion as well. George was ranked a Corporal and his Regimental Service Number was 454160. He was discharged from the service on November 15, 1919 in Kingston, Ontario due to Unit Demobilization. George married Ethel Maud Parsonage on October 3, 1917 in St. Clement's, Essex, England. They were the parents of Leonard George Kellar, Margaret Amelia Kellar, John Kellar, James Philip Kellar, Winifred Pearl Kellar, George Arthur Jacob Kellar & Ruth. Corporal George Frederick Kellar died on March 11, 1937 at the Trenton Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Ontario at the age of 40. His death certificate lists his cause of death as Hypothermia from Drowning.
